1. Express date: Year, Month, Date and Day of the week
To express a date in Chinese, we go from bigger time units to smaller time units. 年 [nián]→月 [yuè]→日 [rì], 号 [hào] is often used in spoken Chinese whereas 日 [rì] is often used in written Chinese.

The numbers from 1 to 6 are used after 星期 [xīngqī] to express Monday to Saturday. Sunday is 星期天 [xīngqī tiān] or 星期日[xīngqī rì].
